Fuchi Industrial Electronics

Fuchi built the Matrix people actually use. The protocols, the response standards, the way a cyberdeck talks to a host — most of it is theirs, and what isn't theirs was written to be compatible with theirs. Every serious deck on the market is a Fuchi, a Fuchi licence, or a knock-off of one.

They're also three companies wearing one name. Two Japanese families and an American operation share it and have never pretended to like each other.

What the crew knows

• Deckers argue about Fuchi the way drivers argue about engines. The arguments are not really about hardware.
• The American side and the Japanese side run their own security, their own hiring, and sometimes their own runs. A Fuchi job is often a job against Fuchi.
• Offices in both cities, nothing fortified in either. They keep their serious facilities where the trunk lines are.
• Matrix work is where their money is, so Matrix work is where their teeth are. Their ICE has a reputation.
• Best corp on the list for selling data to. They will buy anything about their own other half.
