The crew's decker, and the person who writes this wiki. They/them. Trusts paper more than people and says so.
Kept in the same format as everybody else, because making an exception for one entry would mean maintaining two formats. Third person it is.
Forties, unhurried, physically the least dangerous person in the crew and entirely at peace with that. They deck, but the work they're actually good at is finding out which office a document is in and who has to sign it. Before all this they were a records clerk for a title company on Wilshire that dissolved in 2057 along with everything else, and they have never really stopped doing that job — they just do it now for four people instead of a firm.
They live two floors above the crew in a stack in Koreatown, with a hardline, which they are quietly insufferable about.
These pages are theirs, most of them, and so are the opinions in them and the mistakes. The table's own documents — Homebrew, Style, Table Agreements — are not; Fiche just files them.
Why the wiki exists. Los Angeles stopped keeping records in 2057. No county recorder, no newspaper anybody trusts, no funded library, no authority that publishes anything it can be held to. So there is no reference for this city except the ones people keep themselves. Fiche keeps this one because a crew that doesn't know things gets hurt, and because after the firm folded they could not stop filing.
What the crew knows
- They come on maybe one run in three, and only when the job needs somebody who can read a system or a filing cabinet. They will tell you plainly that they are no use in a fight and they are correct.
- They over-trust documents. If it is written down and dated they believe it, and they have been wrong about people because of that more than once.
- They date their corrections. When a page here turns out to be wrong they don't quietly fix it — they write what they had believed, and when they stopped. There are a dozen of those scattered through the wiki if you look.
- They will not write down anything that hurts somebody who talked to them. Which is why some of these pages are thinner than they should be, and why a few names never appear. Ask them in person and they'll answer.
- They have opinions about neighbourhoods and do not pretend otherwise.
- Nobody knows their legal name, including them. There isn't one on record anywhere, which is the whole condition — see The Basics.
