Trent Pike
Title-assembly attorney, Century City. Buying the coast for somebody he won't name.
Pacific Shoreline Trust has a Century City address, no employees anyone can find, and Trent Pike, who answers its correspondence. Just past thirty and looks twenty-five, the way elves do, and old enough, barely, to have filed paper in a California courthouse before the expulsion. Expensive, personable, and genuinely good at his job, which is quietly acquiring every plausible claim to the Gold Coast before anybody rules on who owns it.
He is not a thug and does not employ any. His instrument is an offer, and it is usually a fair one.
What the crew knows#
- He knows what the crew did before they finish telling him.
- His offers are real, generous, and paid promptly. People who take them are not cheated.
- He never threatens. He describes outcomes, accurately, and lets people arrive at the conclusion themselves.
- Nobody has ever met anybody else from Pacific Shoreline Trust.
