Runs IT at the Shiawase complex in El Segundo. Lost their cat on company time and has not been the same since.

Runs IT for Shiawase Energy's Southern California region, out of the AES complex in El Segundo. Six years in the building, the last two running the department. A dwarf in their early thirties who came up through desktop support and still takes the calls nobody else wants, which is how they know every badge on three floors by sight.

Mayonnaise was a cat.

Take Your Pet To Work Day runs every third Friday at the complex. On one of them the cat got out of the office, down a service stair and into the kennel run, and the hellhounds that hold the block after dark are dual-natured animals doing the job they are fed for. Nobody was disciplined. The pet day is still on the calendar, and Dave has been on the in-house counseling line since August. That line is a Shiawase benefit, which means the recording sits on a Shiawase host.

What the crew knows#

• They signed off on the door permissions themselves. Every badge rule on the submissions floor went through their department, and most of them went through them.
• Dave is grieving out loud, weekly, on a line their employer pays for and keeps.
• Take Your Pet To Work Day is every third Friday. It has not been canceled.
• They talk to the hardware more than to people and are better at it.
