Yamatetsu

Shipping, industry, heavy equipment, medical gear. On paper the least interesting of the eight. In practice the only one with a genuinely different reputation on the street, because Yamatetsu builds products for metahumans and means it: armour that fits a troll, a vehicle seat that fits a troll, cyberware rated for the body it's going into.

They hire the same way. A Japanese corporation openly staffing orks and trolls is a political act back home, and the company has taken real damage for it.

What the crew knows

• Half Japanese money and half Filipino money, and it shows in who gets promoted. That combination is unique in this bracket.
• If you're an ork or a troll, this is the corporation that treats you like a customer. Runners notice. So does everyone else.
• Their gear costs more than Ares equivalents and lasts longer.
• Present in both cities through the ports and freight, and in Los Angeles they run clinics in districts where nobody else will site one. Cynics say that's a marketing budget. It's still the clinic.
• Renraku and MCT people talk about them with real contempt, and it isn't about market share.
